Advertising Concept 3/Consumption

Prerequisite: ADVR 2B08 Advertising Concept 2 (minimum grade of 60%)
or ADVR 2K02 Advertising Concept 2 (minimum grade of 60%)
and 9.0 credits, including all first-year requirements (5.0 credits)
Corequisite: ADVR 3B03 Advertising Concept 3/Community
This course further develops student skills by expanding their experience and practice with mass or “consumed” media. Students apply strategic strengths and expand their experience working with the promotion of products and services. An understanding of modern global advertising and the role and usage of Integrated Marketing Communication expands the student’s appreciation for and understanding of mass media choices and where they fit in the trans-media brand narrative. Students are expected to work effectively on their own and in team assignments to create advertising campaigns. Emphasis continues to be placed on concept development and strategic accuracy.
Anti-requisite: ADVR 3B02 Advertising Concept 3 and ADVR 3B03 Time-Based/Transmedia Narrative
or ADVR 3K01 Advertising Concept 3 and ADVR 3A01 TV/Time-Based Media
Conditions: Requires a minimum grade of 60% to advance to Advertising Concept 4/Convergence.
