Advertising Thesis Project 1

Prerequisite: ADVR 3K02 Advertising Concept 4 (minimum grade of 60%)
or (2013/14 onward) ADVR 3B14 Advertising Concept 4/Convergence (minimum grade of 60%) and ADVR 3B01 Advertising Research/Practicum
and 14.0 credits, including all first-year and second- year requirement (10.0 credits)
Advertising Thesis Project 1 requires students to select a specific client category and subject to research and then to complete a substantial Integrated Marketing Communication campaign based on their research findings. The course crosses the line between applied thinking and academic scholarship.
The fall semester includes the continued development of a Thesis Project Statement of Intent conceived in Advertising Thesis Project Prep, Objectives and Strategy, and Research. Students are expected to work independently, supported by a faculty team, provide a schedule of their project, and be responsible to their Thesis Project Director and faculty for effectively executing their plan.

or ADVR 4C01 Advertising Concept 5
Notes: Students must register in the same SECTION for both ADVR 4C03 and ADVR 4C04 to allow for continuity within the class and both courses must be taken in the same academic year.
Conditions: Requires a minimum grade of 60% to advance to ADVR 4C04 Advertising Thesis Project 2.
Should a student be unsuccessful in attaining a 60% average in ADVR 4C04, they will be required, regardless of their mark in ADVR 4C03, to repeat the fall component of Thesis, ADVR 4C03, as well as the winter component of Thesis, ADVR 4C04, and its companion course ADVR 4B09.
