DEGREE/DIPLOMA REQUIREMENTS

Undergraduate degrees:

Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Design (BDes), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)

All OCAD University undergraduate degrees require completion of at least 20.0 credits in good academic standing, with a minimum overall average of 60%. Specific course and graduation requirements are listed in the individual program guides. Most programs require a defined mix of 5.0 liberal studies credits, as outlined in Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences/Degree/Diploma Requirements. Some programs may require more than 5.0 credits liberal studies. 

Students must fulfill all requirements listed in the major program guides the year they were admitted to OCAD U. For example, a student admitted to OCAD U in 2013 must follow the major program guide published in the Fall/Winter 2013/2014 Course Calendar.

However, if program requirements change, students must adhere to the new requirements for their next learning year level. If a required course is no longer offered, students must consult with their Faculty to determine the approved equivalent or substitute.

Undergraduate diploma:

Associate of OCAD University (AOCAD) Diploma

Students admitted to an AOCAD diploma studio program prior to September 2005 may require more than 20 credits, and must be in good academic standing with a minimum overall average of 60% to graduate. Specific course and graduation requirements are listed in the individual program guides. Diploma students require a minimum of 4.0 liberal studies credits, as outlined in Faculty of Liberal Arts & Sciences/Degree/Diploma Requirements. 

Students must fulfill all requirements listed in the major program guides the year they were admitted to OCAD U. For example, a student admitted in 2004 must follow the major program guide published in the 2004/2005 Fall/Winter Calendar.

However, if program requirements change, students must adhere to the new requirements for their next learning year level. If a required course is no longer  offered, students should consult with their Faculty to determine the approved equivalent or substitute.
