Experimentation with non-traditional art materials expands the creative process allowing artists to adapt their artwork to new ideas and possibilities. This course examines materiality and a variety of conceptual approaches to photography. Experimentation is encouraged both in the picture taking and in the printing of the photograph. Working both outside and inside the conventions of traditional art practice develops students’ understanding of how process can expand their ideas. |
