Experimentation with non-traditional art materials expands the creative process allowing artists to adapt their artwork to new ideas and possibilities. This course examines ideas, material and approaches specific to drypoint, relief and digital printmaking. Individual and group assignments focus on the exploration of traditional and non-traditional materials and methods. Working both outside and inside the conventions of traditional art practice helps develop the student’s understanding of how process can expand their ideas. The assignments required for the successful completion of this course are structured to allow for individual research and response, incorporating processes that encourage a personal approach. |
