A core challenge for students in any creative discipline is how to monetise their creative output. Taking an industry case study approach, through lectures, readings and an SME industry participant this course looks at both established and new ways in which the creative potential Digital Futures students can be integrated and enhanced through monetisation in a commercial, governmental, or NGO context. Issues of ethics, social values and sustainability in business are also introduced. The industry participant provides a real-world context and students will study the industry business models in some depth, reflecting on the case study in terms of their own aspirations and interests, considering their contribution to economic growth and productivity in the creative industries sector.
