Working within the context of time-based art, this course focuses on the moving image through performance, documentary and activism by artists. While acquiring technical, conceptual and critical skills through the production of a range of projects, students investigate the history of documentary, performance and activism, the practitioners and various manifestations in contemporary art. Field trips, readings, screenings and in-class critiques augment hands-on instruction in production and postproduction techniques. |

Anti-requisite: Students who have taken INTM 2B29 Video for Artists I may not take this course for credit. |

Notes: Priority in registration is given to Integrated Media Majors. Students may not enrol in INTM 2B30 Workflow & Production until they have successfully completed INTM 2B02 The Moving Image: Cinematic Form & Practice or INTM 2B29 The Moving Image: Documentary, Performance, Activism. Please take special note that this course has material fees associated with it. |
