Prerequisite: INDS 4C03 ID Studio 6: Product Design 1 (minimum grade of 60%)
and 14.0 credits, including all first-year and second-year requirement (10.0 credits)
This single project course builds on skills and knowledge acquired in the preceding ID studios, focusing on instructor/faculty directed product/service projects. They will directly reference the groundwork accomplished in the Conceptual Tools and Techniques course as well as the Research Methodologies for Industrial Designers course taken in their third year. It will be a combination of lectures and critiques which will embody an integrative approach to engagement with design process and activity towards commercial application. The project will engage students from analysis of brief, applied research, ideation and concept development, design evaluation, design development up to and including design implementation.
Anti-requisite: INDS 4C04 4th Year Product Design Studio 2
INDS 4C02 Meta Project 2
INDS 4C02 Thesis II: Business Validation to Final Presentation
Notes: Due to course content, it is required that students register with the SAME INSTRUCTORS for INDS 4C03 and INDS 4C04 and both courses must be taken in the same academic year.
Conditions: INDS 4C04 requires a minimum pass grade of 60%.
Should a student be unsuccessful in attaining a 60% average in INDS 4C04, they will be required, regardless of their mark in INDS 4C03 to repeat the fall component of this course, INDS 4C03, as well as the winter component, INDS 4C04.
