| This studio seminar course is a cross-disciplinary opportunity for art and design students interested in the social aspects of digital media. It offers a rigorous exploration of theories, practices, and tools related to networked communities and environments. The course will be comprised of in-class workshops orienting students to current and emerging technologies, and student-led group seminars on topics of technological and social change. Students will undertake individual and collaborative projects, carrying concepts of communities, environments, and social media networks from research through to the creation of robust interactive artworks and design prototypes. |

| Notes: Priority registration for Digital Futures majors. New title: formerly Virtual Communities and Environments. This is a core required course for the Interdisciplinary Minors in Digital Media and On-Screen Media. This course will fulfill 0.5 credit towards art electives in the Faculty of Art and 0.5 credit towards expansion studios in the Faculty of Design (except for Illustration majors). This course does not fulfill any Liberal Arts & Sciences requirements. |
