MAAD 4C01
Thesis II: Project Development

Prerequisite: MAAD 3B05 Thesis I: Research & Preparation OR GDES 3B68 Design (As) Research,
and MAAD 3B15 Jewellery: Concept Development (if your specialization is Jewellery) OR MAAD 3B20 Fibre: Concept Development (if your specialization is Fibre)
and 12.5 credits, including all first-year and second-year requirements (10.0 credits).

Please note that starting in 2011/12, Material Art & Design students must complete all required courses from third year before accessing MAAD 4C01 Thesis II: Project Development.
Corequisite: This course is strongly recommended to be taken as a co-requisite to MAAD 4B07 or MAAD 4B08.
This course allows students to propose and develop a body of work in their MAAD concentration with the guidance of faculty. Preparation of a statement of intent articulating a conceptual direction, techniques and processes is an important part of the proposal. Students research and prepare thorough documentation of their process throughout the project.
Notes: Students are provided with three hours, weekly, of Open Studio time in addition to scheduled class time in order to complete thesis work.
Please take special note that this course has material fees associated with it.
Conditions: MAAD 4C01 requires a minimum pass grade of 60%.
Should a student be unsuccessful in attaining a 60% average in MAAD 4C02, they will be required, regardless of their mark in MAAD 4C01 to repeat the fall component of Thesis, MAAD 4C01, as well as the winter component of Thesis, MAAD 4C02.
