Furniture Construction Methodologies

Prerequisite: INDS 3B26 Material Explorations 3 or INDS 2B18 Material Explorations 3
or FABR 2B05 Introduction to Fabrication: Wood
or ENVR 1B04 Materials and Methods
or ENVR 2B17 Exploration Studio/Personal Space with attached lab (prior to 2013/14)
or ENVR 2B19 Exploration Studio/Social Space with attached lab (prior to 2013/14)
and 9.0 credits, including all first-year requirements (5.0 credits)
Corequisite: GDES 3B15 Furniture Design 1 (NOTE: GDEX 3B04 may be taken as a prerequisite to GDES 3B15 rather than a corequisite, if you prefer.)
This course will instruct students on the construction of furniture. Materials, fasteners, finishes, joints tools and techniques will all be covered. The information and experience gained in this course will enable students to construct the furniture that they design in the Furniture Design classes.
