Montage is key to cinematic language. This course will promote an in-depth understanding of the formal vocabulary and aesthetics of editing, including an examination of post-production strategies and creative structures for media productions. Students will explore different rough- and fine-cut editing techniques through a series of editing assignments, screenings and critiques. Students will learn non-linear editing skills for film, video and digital media through short editing assignments and creative projects that explore topics including pacing, timing, layering and narrative structure. |

Anti-requisite: Students who have taken INTM 3B43 or INTM 4B17 Post Production Media may not take this course for credit. |
