DIGF 1B05 Creative Collective: Transmedia (Not offered in 2014/15) 0.50 Credit(s) Studio/Seminar |
Not offered in 2014/15 Transmedia is becoming more a way of thinking rather than a way of describing a particular way of storytelling or marketing. On this course, students will work intensively in a single team to create a transmedia prototype. Learning how to weave together complementary technologies to create compelling experiences that advocate, mobilize, educate, entertain is now an essential skill for a contemporary designer or artist. The research-through-prototype method is employed by this course to explore: • Convergent media: organization, protocols, infrastructure • Transmedia practices: storytelling, performance, rituals, activism • Creative opportunities: image, word, sound, movement, body, space |
Notes: Priority registration for Digital Futures majors. This course will fulfill 0.5 credit towards art electives in the Faculty of Art. This course does not fulfill any Liberal Arts & Sciences requirements. |
