Colour in Context

This course examines the processes of visual perception, the language of colour, contextual analysis and colour strategies in the applications of colour to communication, objects and spaces. Through investigations of light and colour mixing in 2D, 3D, and 4D design, students are introduced to the physiology of vision, cognitive and perceptual psychologies, semiology, ethnography, geography, colour interactions, play, and the colour bias system. Information acquired in this course enables students to choose and use colour confidently, appropriately, and effectively when determining visual outcomes.
Notes: Required for Advertising, Graphic Design and Illustration students.
Please note, when registering, that sections 14, 15, 16 and 17 of this course are delivered entirely online and will not be scheduled in a classroom on a specific day and time.
