COURSE DESCRIPTION

INDS 4B09
Professional Preparation
0.50 Credit(s)
Studio/Seminar
Prerequisite: 13.5 credits, including all first-year and second-year requirements (10.0 credits)
As the practice of Industrial Design has evolved, the necessary preparation for this practice has evolved as well. This course will prepare students for the current realities of the practice of their profession. The greatest emphasis will be on presentation: how to present, what to present, whom to present to and why presentations are important. As well, the collaborative nature of contemporary practice will be explored and students will be encouraged to work to their strengths, with the skills necessary to form the collaborative relationships necessary to ensure that all aspects of a project be fulfilled, regardless of specific personal skills.
Anti-requisite: Students who have taken INDS 4B05 Professional Practice may not take this course for further credit.
Notes: It is strongly recommended that students take INDS 4B09 in the same year as INDS 4C01/4C02 or INDS 4C03/4C04.
