(NOT OFFERED IN FALL/WINTER 2011-12) This course examines the philosophical field of ethics as it pertains to the design and advertising of products in the marketplace. Students are introduced to the principal issues faced by advertising executives and industrial designers in practicing their professions. We examine various theories of ethics, probe the meaning of moral judgments, and identify the underlying assumptions in each case.
