The visualization of data across print, television, film, web and interactive applications plays a significant role in communicating ideas, deriving meaning and making decisions. Today’s capacity to store vast amounts of information increases the need for citizens, researchers, governments and business to interpret and represent complex data in useful, intuitive and compelling ways. This introductory course focuses on the development of the necessary comprehension and skills in 2D visual design and animation as applied to information visualization so that she or he can contribute to this expanding field. |
