Prerequisite: 10.0 credits, including all first-year requirements (5.0 credits) and 1.0 credit of second-year liberal arts & sciences (including 0.5 credit in VISA/VISC/VISD/VISM). |

The course introduces art and design students to concepts of small business and entrepreneurship, and explores the roles that entrepreneurs and smaller firms play in society. The course is also concerned with issues that relate to conceptualizing, developing and managing successful new ventures. Students will participate in a negotiated simulation exercise, visit small firms and interview entrepreneurs, and undertake an opportunity assessment (precursor to a business plan). |

Notes: This course will fulfill 0.5 credit towards art electives in the Faculty of Art and 0.5 credit towards expansion studios for Industrial Design majors in the Faculty of Design. This course does not fulfill any Liberal Arts & Sciences requirements. |
