This course continues the study of the methods and techniques used to produce limited-edition book works. The emphasis is placed on book structures, bindings and the printmaking processes used to create them. Fresh perspectives on past and current technologies assist students in applying those relevant techniques to their own work. Examples and discussion of both traditional and contemporary artists' books are investigated to encourage students to contextualize their work in terms of historical relevance and to provide inspiration for experimentation and innovation. Projects include the creation of unique artists' books. |
