This course will provide an introduction to the fundamentals of furniture design with an emphasis on the exploration of furniture as a vital support for human activity. Students will undertake briefed design and research projects ranging in length from one day to one month. Each project explores the relationship between theory and practice and encourages design experimentation as a means of expression. The studio format includes lectures, projects, field trips and critiques. |
