ID Studio 2: Materials, Identity and Culture

Prerequisite: INDS 1B01 ID Studio One (minimum grade of 60%)
or INDS 2B14 ID Studio 1: The Design of Everyday Things (minimum grade of 60%)
and 2.0 first-year studio credits and 1.0 first-year liberal studies credits required for program.
Building on the experiences of ID Studio 1, this course will expand the students understanding of the Design Process and their competency in its use. They will assimilate, synchronize and demonstrate their learning in all of their previous and concurrent courses, which will include drawing, model making and the thoughtful analysis and observation of their world. There will be a special emphasis on and investigation of innovative materials and their appropriate use. Projects will be assigned that will provide opportunities to examine human needs in relation to cultural, social and personal issues, further developing the investigations undertaken in the previous semester.
Anti-requisite: Students who have taken INDS 2K02 ID Studio 2: Design for Private Space may not take this course for further credit.
Conditions: INDS 2B15 requires a minimum pass grade of 60%.
