Digital visualizations are ubiquitous in our networked information society. This studio seminar course provides practical and theoretical studies of ideas and concepts geared towards the outcome of presentable communicated formats. The types of application range from drawing by hand, i.e. employing gesture drawing, quick sketching and simple mouse drawings, to more advanced expression using digital and haptic technologies. Class exercises will lead to informed choice-making of the appropriate tool for a particular concept or idea.Through the presentation of case studies the student will learn to examine the vast range of data and information visualization methods and be able to build their own techniques for future presentations in class or in other meetings. |
