Not Offered 2014/15 This mini-course examines the concept of creative and commercial disruption in light of new media technologies. How do disruptive technologies and practices emerge, and how can artists, designers, and technologists leverage such disruptions to make the world a more human place? This course will explore historical precedents, starting from the Guttenberg printing press through to modern technology such as Appleās iPhone, EBook technology, HTML, Cloud Computing. Students will also collaborate in teams to conceive and execute their own disruptive events through the web. |
