Through the use of hammers, steel and wooden forms, the plasticity and malleability of non-ferrous (copper, brass and silver) metals are explored. Forging, sinking and raising metal forms are the major techniques covered in this course. Students will be asked to explore their own personal design process through writing, drawing and model making and create vessels, flatware and domestic objects encompassed by silversmithing practices. |
