Synthesis: Thesis Proposal
0.50 Credit(s)
Prerequisite: 7.5 credits, including all first-year requirements (5.0 credits), 1.0 credit of second-year liberal arts & sciences (including 0.5 credit in VISA/VISC/VISD/VISM), and SCTM 3B02: Thinking Statistics: Data, Meaning & Analysis.
This course will synthesize the conceptual, practical, technical and innovative knowledge learned to date. Drawing from quantitative and qualitative research methods acquired in Thinking Data, a methodological approach will be chosen by individual students in order to propose a plan of study for the production of a significant culminating project or artwork in their fourth year. Developing a proposal in third year provides an opportunity for students to hone their skills and build a framework of research and creation for their thesis project. Classes will follow a seminar structure and will concentrate on students' research and steps to realization of the chosen project/artwork.
Notes: DF: TIDA majors only.
