Professional Practice for Environmental Designers

Prerequisite: 13.5 credits, including all first-year and second-year requirements (10.0 credits)
This course provides the student with a practical, business understanding of the professions of Architecture and Interior Design. Students will investigate the many elements of practicing as a design professional, including the varying and evolving forms of design practices, the elements of business within these practices, various market sectors and client types, and the legal and educational responsibilities required by the professional organizations representing these practices. The role of the design practitioner within the greater community will be examined as well as the impact and practice of professional ethics within this role.
Anti-requisite: Students who have taken ENVR 4B04 Professional Practice or
ENVR 4A03 Professional Practice may not take this course for further credit.
