Not offered in 2014/15 Mobility – lifestyles and opportunities that result from the proliferation of mobile platforms, networks, applications and interfaces – is the most significant technological and social transformation of recent times. Mobility is global and local: it combines intense personalization, location, and context awareness with access to the Internet. Mobility has allowed developing and emerging nations to jump over fixed line technology to provide education, healthcare and culture to vast populations, and has changed our expectations of social and familial life. This course provides historical, cultural and practical approaches to the context and development of mobile applications and web design for small screen platforms. |
|
Notes: Priority registration for Digital Futures majors. This course will fulfill 0.5 credit towards art electives in the Faculty of Art. This course does not fulfill any Liberal Arts & Sciences requirements. |
