This course is an introduction to the emerging field of experience design, its tools and methods. Experience design is the practice of defining the engagement between people and the world of products, processes, services, events, communications and environments, by providing users with sets of stimuli that elicit compelling responses, leading to the accomplishment of users goals. The professional capability of experience design involves social innovation, psychology, motivational and behavioural theories, cognitive science, information design, ethnography, brand management, interaction design, product, space and service design and storytelling. Students are exposed to the new design opportunities made feasible by the emergence of new user needs as well as to the basic concepts, methods, tools and techniques used in the definition and design of user experience. |
